Client Projects Receive Historic Oscar Nominations

On March 15th, the nominations for the 93rd Academy Awards were announced via live stream from London. This year, client projects set many firsts.

Riz Ahmed, nominated for Best Actor for his role in “The Sound of Metal,” became the first Muslim actor nominated in the category. This year, for the first time in Academy Awards history, more than one female director was nominated in the best director category, including Chloé Zhao, nominated for Best Director for “Nomadland.” Zhao also became the first non-white woman nominated  for the award. Leslie Odom Jr. became the fourth person overall and the first man ever to be nominated for both an acting award and Best Original Song for “One Night in Miami…” and Frances McDormand was also nominated for two awards for “Nomadland,” only the third woman ever to do so.

The Academy Awards will stream live from both Hollywood’s Dolby Theater and Union Station in Los Angeles on Sunday, April 25th at 8 pm EST on ABC.

Congratulations to all of our client project nominees!
