2023 Oscar Nominations Include Four Client Projects

On January 24th, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the 2023 Oscar nominations. 2023 marks the 95th annual Oscar ceremony. This year, there are four client projects among the nominees. Last year, client project “CODA” was a major winner with multiple wins. We are hoping for a repeat of multiple wins again this year for our clients’ Oscar-nominated movies!

“The Whale”

Best Lead Actor - Brendan Fraser

Best Supporting Actress - Hong Chau

“The Whale” is a film about a reclusive, overweight teacher attempting to reestablish his relationship with his estranged teenage daughter.

“All the Beauty and the Bloodshed”

Best Documentary Feature Film -  Laura Poitras, Howard Gertler, John Lyons, Nan Goldin, and Yoni Golijov

“All the Beauty and the Bloodshed” is a story about Nan Goldin. It is a combination of her slideshows, interviews, photography, and footage of her fight to hold the Sackler family accountable for the overdose crisis.

“Marcel the Shell With Shoes On”

Best Animated Feature Film -  Dean Fleischer Camp, Elisabeth Holm, Andrew Goldman, Caroline Kaplan, and Paul Mezey

“Marcel the Shell With Shoes On” is about Marcel, a 1-inch tall shell. He is discovered and filmed in a documentary that brings him millions of fans and fuels hope of finding his long-lost family. 

“The Sea Beast” 

Best Animated Feature Film -  Chris Williams and Jed Schlanger

“The Sea Beast” is an animated feature about Jacob Holland, a celebrated monster hunter in an era when terrifying beasts roamed the seas, who finds an unexpected ally in young Maisie Brumble who stows away on his fabled ship. Together they embark on a journey into uncharted waters and make history.
