    East Coast Motion Picture Industry Pension & Health Plan Contributions to Increase in 2018

    East Coast Motion Picture Industry Pension & Health Plan contributions will increase on March 25th, 2018.

    Currently, contributions for employees working under an East Coast Agreement with Local 600, Local 700, Local 52, Local 161, or Local 817 (Location Managers/Scouts), or any Agreement that contains rates that are based upon the hourly cost of benefits per participant, are due at the composite rate of $14.448 per hour, in addition to applicable Individual Account Plan percentage contributions.

    Pursuant to the terms of the MPI Trust Agreements, and based on an actuarial evaluation, MPI's Board of Directors has determined that the contribution rate to the Pension Plan will be adjusted from $4.073 to $4.413 per hour.

    The hourly contribution rate to the Active and Retiree Health Plans will remain as follows:

    • Active Health - $8.415 per hour
    • Retiree Health - $1.960 per hour

    Effective March 25th, 2018, the new total composite rate will be $14.788 per hour. A new Rate Group 43 Contribution Reporting Form may be downloaded from MPI's website at www.mpiphp.orgPlease do not submit reports with the new rates for hours worked prior to March 25th, 2018.

    Please note that the above rates do not apply to employers who have made Supplemental Markets payments in excess of $15,000,000 over a three-year period. This rate change does not apply to these employers or their related entities.
