Robin Thede’s Groundbreaking Late-Night Comedy Show Now on HBO

A Black Lady Sketch Show, a groundbreaking half-hour comedy narrative series executive produced and written by Robin Thede, features narrative sketches performed by a core cast of black women, including Thede, as well as celebrity guests.

Entertainment Weekly’s Clarkisha Kent says “A Black Lady Sketch Show has arrived to smash glass ceilings and do 'weird s---'”, IndieWire’s Tambay Obenson calls the show a “smart, funny, black woman-centric late-night delight,” and Wired’s Jason Parham says the show is a “much-needed jolt to tv comedy.”

A Black Lady Sketch Show makes history: it’s the first sketch series cast comprised entirely of black women; it boasts the first all-black women writers room, and every episode is directed by a black woman.

Thede executive produces with Issa Rae via her Issa Rae Productions, Dave Becky and Jonathan Berry for 3 Arts Entertainment as well as Tony Hernandez and Brooke Posch for JAX Media. Deniese Davis and Montrel McKay produce for Issa Rae Productions and John Skidmore produces for JAX Media.
